The People Institute is the brainchild of Carla Harris, a 22-year image and human services consultant who has worked tirelessly to fulfill her mission of helping companies and organizations serve clients better by focusing on the dynamics of workplace culture.

Dr. Stephanie Scott is an educator, researcher, and non-profit professional with 30+ years of experience in her field. Having earned degrees in Macro Theory and Research, Social Work Administration, and Communications in Washington, D.C., Louisville, Kentucky, and Miami, FL, Stephanie brings an unparalleled skillset to The People Institute and the clients we love to serve. Stephanie’s wealth of expertise in program research, strategic planning, behavioral health, data analysis and reporting has helped organizations such as the United Way, Children’s Trust, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, U.S. Department of Justice, and the U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau optimize their performance with informed, well-researched solutions and action plans.
Stephanie’s primary role is to assist course participants in the enhancement and stretching of their fundamental skillsets to become better leaders, executives, and human beings.

Peter J. Harris, Creative development partner
Peter Harris is our Creative Development Partner who brings incredible insight to our participant engagement programs through his creative thinking and outside-of-the-box organizational solutions. Peter’s ability to tap into the needs of others has allowed The People Institute to deliver the most dynamic and high-impact training programs possible, and with great results.
Peter is the Artistic Director of Inspiration House, where as a writer, producer, publisher, broadcaster, and educator he has received worldwide exposure and recognition for his work. He is also the founding director of the Black Man of Happiness Project, a creative, intellectual and artistic exploration of Black men and joy. To help further his mission of helping human beings be better, Peter also hosts Inspiration House Retreats that allow men and women to commune with art, dance, theater, video arts, and creative writing to rediscover their own creativity, strengthen their leadership skills, and build camaraderie with teams and peers.
